What it does
QuillChannel brings professional courses and language learning into one product. A learner can browse a course, work through lessons, review their progress, and apply to teach from the same account. Populated and brand-new learner starting points let visitors explore everyday use and first steps.
The problem
The brief called for a marketplace where learners could understand a course’s qualification, price, curriculum, and intended audience before enrolling. It also needed short language practice and an instructor workflow inside the same product.
Each journey had to feel coherent while making the limits of a demo clear.
Our approach
We organized the product around the learner journey: discover, enroll, learn, and review progress. Course information distinguishes regulated qualifications, CPD, and unaccredited study.
Language lessons provide immediate exercise feedback, while progress uses weekly goals and achievements. A local mock API keeps changes consistent across screens and browser refreshes.
Research and context
England’s adult education statistics show participation across several essential skills subjects. QuillChannel explores discovery and study in one account. Qualification status needs separate verification: the official register is evidence of regulation, while demo labels and certificates are simulated. [1][2]
Adult study covers several essential skills

| English for Speakers of Other Languages | 168,730 |
| Digital skills | 47,410 |
Department for Education administrative counts for August 2024–July 2025. Subjects overlap: learners can appear in more than one row, so the values must not be added.
Publicly funded provision in England is not a measure of UK private marketplace demand. ESOL refers to English learning. These counts do not demonstrate QuillChannel enrollment or learning gains.

The outcome
The result is a complete frontend demo of the planned learner and instructor journeys. Changes to enrollments, notes, lessons, and authored courses persist in the same browser, allowing a visitor to follow the product across sessions.
The demo is publicly available as a Progressive Web App, with defined offline behavior for bundled learning content.
Scope and next steps
QuillChannel uses fictional learners, instructors, providers, and course offers. Enrollment takes no payment, verification and publishing are simulated, and completion certificates are demo documents.
Only eight courses have written lessons. Spanish covers five units through A2; French and German include their first unit. Videos and PDFs need a connection, and listening uses the browser’s voice where supported.
Real accounts, transactions, moderation, and qualification delivery would require a production platform. The demo’s instructor figures are seeded, and changes belong to one browser.

Project evidence
The description comes from reviewed frontend implementation and its recorded public demo. The walkthrough demonstrates course discovery, study, progress, and authoring with fixture data and browser storage. Offers, provider verification, payments, publishing, and certificates are simulated; no enrollment or learning outcome is measured.
